Australia thrashed England by 405 runs on the fourth evening at Lord’s to level the Ashes series at 1-1.

It was England’s third heaviest runs-margin defeat and only Stuart Broad (25) passed 20 in their 103 all out.

Australia declared by lunch on 254-2 to set England 509 but when Ben Stokes was run out England were 52-5 before tea.

Jos Buttler then went to the first ball of the final session and Moeen Ali was out for nought in the same Mitchell Johnson over, the paceman taking 3-27.
